It's a statutory holiday today, Heritage Day. I got out to play with my #watercolour supplies, which are long-neglected. Although I sat where there was a good view of nature, I didn't have the tools (or the skills) to capture it. The goal was achieved, and it was lovely to get out on a cool morning with sunny skies. While out in the Ritchie neighbourhood, I visited Magpie Books for the first time, and bought A Minor Chorus by Billy-Ray Belcourt, an award-winner that has long been on my TBR list.

My cousin is currently recovering from a bad bout with COVID. I'm glad she still had COVID tests, or the doctor was proactive on testing her. She was so sick, and she says that the dominant strain now has a lot of stomach symptoms. Add that to the cyclospora/salmonella outbreak. COVID isn't over. Its presentation may evolve, but it's still here. We need to test for it, too, when people get sick with digestive symptoms.
With the fallout from the anti-vaxxers, who knows what you might catch! 😷
