We are improving our bio security for H5N1 bird flu. Chooks are now housed inside (we added some enrichment activities ), food and water are wild bird and rodent proof. Sanitiser in and out of shed. Changing shoes for the chook yard. Chook only cleaning equipment and sink, water and liquid soap to wash hands after going in to the chooks.
We have designated inside and outside shoes for the house.
Now to practise the behaviours so they are embedded by the time birds are affected here.

Miserable day. Let's hope this is the worst day of winter and it will be better from here on. #weather

Last week I found out my role is being impacted. It's something I've been preparing for, and I'm good with it. I've had the most amazing experiences, and change is part of life.

I'll be wrapping up by mid-September and I'm aiming to take at least 3-4 weeks off to decompress. The starting point will be to get my body clock back to more regular hours: I may even rediscover what this "9pm" thing is about.

Then it'll be a case of seeing what's out there for a #DataProtection / #Backup expert with 30 years of experience covering implementation, training, support, architecture, consulting, and most recently, product management. My last few years in product management saw me leading #UX and Manageability for such products at a vendor, so I'll certainly be interested in exploring UX leadership opportunities, and I'm going to take a close look at tangential areas such as archive, and document management.

A new solar lighthenge discovery 🌞🙂

Walked into my bedroom at just the right moment this afternoon to find this beautiful patch of illumination on the wall.

It’s sunlight reflected from a dormer window on a house down the valley to the south, sneaking through a narrow gap into my balcony door. The leaf shadows are vines on the neighbour’s wall.

Lasted just a minute & I may never see it again given the angle, time of day & year, & brevity.

Now there’s a metaphor …
