This is worth a re-boost..
Next up for the Blazers arena deal is the Portland city council, where one councilor argued the city should get more arena revenues: “We are not in a negotiation, we are in a hostage situation. How does adding amendments to this term sheet make it worse?” https://www.fieldofschemes.com/2026/08/07/24566/friday-roundup-county-commission-approves-100m-in-blazers-arena-money-doesnt-actually-have-100m/
I switched the channel to ESPN 8 and it’s a wiffle ball game. Grown men playing professional wiffle ball.
The Wiffle Ball factory is about 4 miles from my house in Shelton, Connecticut. I knew a guy who worked there when I used to go to my local pub after work. The bar would call him Johnny Wiffle.
He said they manufacture 12,000 wiffle ball a day. There’s only 12 people who work in that factory.
My friend Johnny Wiffle is in the video at the 2:24 minute mark.
I like to give good boost by tickling the star too.

Reminder: if you are inside the green or dark green area of this map, watch the ~10 o'clock position of the moon tonight at 2:35am EDT/11:35pm PDT. More info here: https://spaceweather.com/archive.php?day=28&month=07&year=2026&view=view
You probably won't see anything. But maybe you'll see a little poof of dust within a few minutes as something the size of a bus crashes into the moon at more than 8,000 km/hr
Watching the #SFGiants this year is making the concept of relegation appealing. It’s possible they’d win more in the next tier down.

Deleting my Facebook and Twitter accounts is still one of the best things I've ever done.
10/10 Highly recommend.

What FEATURE, SERVICE, or ACCOUNT would you mention to entice normal (non-nerdy, non techie) people to join communities on the #Fediverse?
“Zucc doesn’t control it” and “It’s not Bluesky” doesn’t count, because like it or not, normal people don’t actually care, and having to make them care first is too much work.
“There’s no algorithm” is valid and it…kinda works for some people…but not super well.
Boost for ideas!
OMG. I'm howling.
