Muting the thread. Tired of hot takes.

Well, a civilization died tonight.

It was ours. Congress didn't step up and stop him. No one in power invoked the 25th Amendment to remove him. We failed, utterly, as a civilization.

If you're on BlueSky and want to bridge to Mastodon, follow @ap.brid.gy

That's it. Nothing to install, no terms of service to sign, no complicated garbage. If you want to stop, just block @ap.brid.gy

Why am I encouraging this? Because when BlueSky inevitably goes bad, people there will have friends in the Fediverse to help them move here.

I really didn't expect this to take off.

I generally do not condone violence. However, there are exceptions. If someone is threatening rape with that statement and makes any move that indicates they might follow-through, people need to understand THEY SHOULD FIGHT BACK.

I was taught as a child to just endure. That's fucked up.

Fight back any way you can: leave the room, tell a reasonable authority figure, or... beat the living snot out of the scumbag.

Stop teaching girls to be submissive.

Girls, if a boy says to you, "Your body, my choice." They've implicitly given you permission to kick them in the balls.

Or as my husband said, "My knee, your nuts."

In short, you are allowed to defend yourself from a rape threat, which is what that first statement is.

#Introduction

I'm a writer living in south central Washington state. I have some minor writing credits and was a reporter for a time. I have considered myself a writer since I was a small child.

I'm a fangirl with lots of loves. I am not an "us versus them" type of fan. My fandom is inclusive, not exclusive.

I have lupus, and am still learning how to manage it.

My hubby is a major Wizard of Oz fan. We met due to our shared love of Doctor Who.
