Our #HalloweenMusicJam collab album is live!

Thanks to:
@mykie
@ranjit @Louisa
and my friend maamdi for contributing songs & art, and thanks to everyone who's been following along throughout the jam!

This has been a lot of fun & I love all of these songs so much. I'm planning to do it again next September!

[sitting down to eat at a restaurant]
waiter: hi! can I get you something to drink? iced tea? coffee? a craft beer? ✨ask AI assistant for help✨?

Oh, and when those Autumn leaves start turning
And the evening fires brightly burning
All we spirits start to yearning
And I simply can't resist returning
For a friendly little haunt
Among all those I've not forgot
All the foes and friends of my earthly little life
And even though they tend to say
I've passed on to some better place
If you thought you'd not see me again,
Well, you're in for a surprise!

Because I shall return for Halloween... (chorus)

Now they're pouring candy into bowls
And I feel that itching in my bones
I need to lurch and dance and twist and play
Oh, they're hanging spiders from the trees
And setting pumpkins 'neath the eaves
And I am rising up from my cold grave!

Oh yes, I shall return for Halloween.
I'll be lurking at the corner of your eye
In that strange moonglow through the trees
In every rattle of their leaves
Oh, I shall return for Halloween!
If only as a spectre in your mind.

Oh yes, I shall return for Halloween!
I'll be back in your town for just one night
In that strange moonglow through the trees
In every rattle of their leaves
Oh, I shall return for Halloween,
If only as a spectre in your mind.

It has been far too long since I felt the chill
Of a creak or bump or scurry down the hall
It's funny, the ghosts that we feared once
Are just like those that we become
And the chill the same that's bound to claim us all...

It has been many years since I left this place
I remember the tears and the cries
As I was ferried off on the Boatman's creaking cart
Still I remain in some small part in all your lives.

It has been many years since I wore my mask
And prowled through the town from door to door
All those sweetmeats and frights
On that creepiest night
Now I'm thinking I just might drop by once more...

Here's my submission for #HalloweenMusicJam 2026 - "I Shall Return For Halloween"

I'm hoping to put the collab album together tomorrow evening! Right now it's looking like we'll have 5 tracks on there, which is exciting! A nice lil halloween EP

betcha didn't expect nash to do a #looptober !!

(nash's looptober 1 - costco has abandoned us, made with NitrousTracker on the DSi)

Happy #HalloweenMusicJam! Both of the tracks I'm working on will be a little past deadline. Both songs are fully written though, so I kinda count it?

I also set up a Halloween Music Jam Bandcamp to host a collab album on, if anyone would like to have their track in that! It will be a free download, for simplicity purposes.

Send me a DM if you are interested & I'll coordinate with you!

(Edit: I'll plan to finalize the collab album on 10/8 or 10/9, so there's still time to finish up tracks!)

[glancing down at my game boy]: I can't play that right now. I have work to do.

do you ever get the thing where you're idling about & you look at some item & have a random thought about it, like: "my favorite jacket. it's served me well through many a chilly season" & then you're like, "damn that was an adventure game character ass thought"

was thinking of this again today & was like, "ya know, it's about 2 months to halloween. perfect time to make some halloween music!"

SO. here's my proposal: what if we do a jam, eh?? #HalloweenMusicJam perhaps. We make some Halloween music, gather it up, share it, cover it, maybe make a compilation album or playlist or just individually release tracks & albums. & together we can help build that proper cultural corpus of holiday standards for the spooky season 🫡🎃💀

I love food. food reminds me why it's worth being human. I can imagine myself as a divine being in some divine realm, beyond mortality & suffering. & I bet eating there is at best like dreaming. cause you're not in a body that craves food, that hungers & struggles & needs it down to the last cell. I can imagine eating a meal, knowing objectively it's delicious, yet finding the experience lacking each time, until finally I choose to be born a mortal, cause I just really want a proper sandwich
