As people have been talking about "Adobe-beating technology" this week, here's a big list of Adobe-beating technology that someone compiled. Much of it free!
Who needs world-boiling slop clones that will be abandoned in a month, when the magic of shopping around was inside us all along. ✨
please remind me about software projects and organizations which are unlikely to be disappointing in this manner
22 years ago I sat beside a lad on a plane with a GNU sticker on his laptop and by now he's probably a lot more disappointed than I am
At the current rate of going a lot of people will need to add (but not into ethnic cleansing) in their bios after where it says FOSS or Open Source or whatever by about Halloween
"how dare you call us anti-rights, this is definitely not about our funding"
Never take these people at their word, brazen dishonesty is standard operating procedure
So now we realize the problem with the Amnesty report, which resulted in a fucking oddball billionaire threatening to SLAPP Amnesty UK out of existence, was its revealing all the US funding from extremely conservative organizations.
These people tried to do the same shit in Ireland with gay marriage and abortion access.

Sure their industry knowledge of hotels/horses/roller discoes is the real competitive advantage anyway.
A perennial thing, but also now combined with "we vibe coded something that looks right but doesn't actually do anything, so it can't be that hard to add the 'do anything' bit"
"If you're not on board with AI you're going to get left behind"
Boost if you'd like to be left behind and would consider paying extra for a life without this bullshit.

3k boost edit: everyone who said a variant of "why should I pay" is right, but the world is wrong.
Hello new and nearly new folks.
My crucial pro-tip for finding people to follow is that hashtags only show you stuff your server already has.
To go beyond, dip into other servers and browse their timelines, including hashtag searches. When you follow accounts, it may be the first time your server sees them, and then their posts will feature for all on your server.
https://fedi.garden/ is a good list of servers, with curation.
https://fedidb.org/ is a more complete list
