While I played Sonic R and Sonic 3D Blast in the late 90s on PC - they came together in a box, also they sold Sonic CD then too - I have never seriously attempted a Sega Saturn game up till now.

May I present Sakura Wars, or whatever its Japanese name is! Dude, this thing is amazing! Everyone here who hasn't palyed it should play it immediately and go in blind! For those who need deets, its basically a combination Tactical RPG mixed with a Visual Novel, kind of. Go play it kntiter!

Strider’s morning hike revealed that they are too far north, so he and the hobbits have spent the day struggling east, then following a valley southeast. Now the valley has dead-ended in a high ridge. They decide to attempt the climb despite Frodo’s wound.

There’s no reason to buy games anymore because Burnout 3: Takedown has been recompiled!

I haven't played EverQuest 2 in any serious capacity in YEARS but this looks really slick. I can't believe that an MMO that feels as dead as this one does is still pumping out expansions like this.

If I had to add a fourth, it'd be System of a Down. Serj's voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me, though the music itself isn't terrible (even if it's nothing special, IMO).

At risk of spreading mild negativity, I can't help but be curious:

What are some bands and artists of a retro era that everyone seems to love but you just can't get into?

For me, The Beatles, Guns N Roses and Prince are the ones.

I simply don't understand why people love those three so much. Of the three, Prince is most tolerable, but even then, I just find all three incredibly grating to listen to. :odysee_thinking:

This is how the Retro Gaiden website looks to logged-in users.

It uses default Mastodon software with a heavy amount of custom CSS. The result is an appearance that's unlike anything else on the Fediverse.

If you still see ads on the internet, you’re doing it wrong.

Public Service Announcement:

If you hack a mini console (like SNES or PS Classic) and leave the power turned on with the USB in too long, it will overheat and eventually destroy the USB.

Make sure the power isn't going to the device even when its not turned on.

Don’t waste your time arguing with idiots on the internet. Block and move on.

Has anyone played the Gothic remake yet?

I haven't had the chance to play it or the original, but I do have almost all of Piranha Bytes' games in my Steam library and I'm trying to decide whether I should try to tweak/mod the original Gothic or just play the remake. I've heard people say the remake is amazing and I've also heard you need quite a few mods to make the original work correctly. :odysee_thinking:

This retrospective is LONG (over four and a half hours) and I'm very early in it, but I'm already thoroughly impressed. The quality is just stellar!

Worth watch if you have to (unfortunately) build a gaming pc right now.

Absolutely insane that we're approaching three console generations since this game dropped :terry_nono:

Released back in 2018, ATOM RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game is a classic Fallout-like and the developers just gave it a nice upgrade and DLC.

After Yu Suzuki’s YsNet developed Shenmue III, they made Air Twister. This game is a cross between Space Harrier and Panzer Dragoon. It originally released as an Apple Arcade exclusive but now it’s on everything. The Steam version is on sale now.

If you’re looking for a game with simple, arcade action, you can’t go wrong with this game.

My feelings are mixed on this: I wasn't planning to play it (I like my existing account) and I think the hate was overblown, but I also love that Jagex is listening to the players like this. This is so clearly NOT the Jagex from a few years ago that disappointed me daily.
