    Given the current zeitgeist of pointing and laughing (or more) at Fedi scrapers, I'm curious to get some other people's reactions on something.

    There's this bot. It's in German. It seems to be some kind of hype bot that nobody really paid attention to after initial configuration? And at least from what I can see on the profile page it literally only boosts MY posts? I'm utterly baffled at it. I've never blocked it because it's never done anything that felt intentionally obnoxious or wildly irresponsible. I just... I don't get it. Why. I have been wondering why for months.

    Should I block this? Like what the fuck.

    @the_coffee_lover Yeah. Done. And in fact I'm sure it was silly of me not to do it earlier. It's just such a *mystery!* I'm so curious what they were trying to accomplish.

    @MaddieM4 I can see it boosting lots of people's posts! Perhaps those don't federate with you so you can't see them? (But yes, it seems useless and I think it's not a bad idea to block them)

    @irina I was curious if something like that might be happening! It seemed too conspicuous that it would only be boosting me for some reason, which also gave it a very "abandoned automation" vibe from my limited vantage point.

    @MaddieM4 so this bot boosts only trending statuses on servers that are listed in the directory of similar servers that focus on roleplaying, tabletop and similar games, which were listed on. Like an old school webring of similar servers. It probably only appears to boost your posts from Raphus, because nobody here follows it. It usually only ever boosted my posts, and I mainly forgot about it.
