I think we are too precious about doing The Right Thing.

Just get a roll of kiddies drawing paper and a roll of washi tape or good masking tape that won't leave marks (that's why I used my washi tape)
Tape that shit up to the *outside* of your windows.

You gotta keep the sun out before it even tries to come in.

If you don't like tape and paper, maybe you have a spare fitted sheet? I've managed to cover 1 set of windows in my kitchen, secured by closing the window on the sheet.

My house looks ridiculous but it is almost ten degrees cooler inside.

Not radical but at least not 30+c

@Akki@toot.lgbt and don't do it the other way. The dark layer should be between the sun and the glass panel. If you do it the other way around you've made a glasshouse, and the temperatures will increase even further.

@dasgrueneblatt Yeah but cardboard can be a little unweady and maybe you don't have enough. A roll of kiddie drawing paper will do a lot of windows and works fine.
I am testing the side door window which i normally have a black out curtain inside for. But just normal white paper outside means the inside pane of glass isn't warm at all.

@Akki Yes, cardboard also might be too heavy for the tape to hold. But it's thicker and darker. Like you said, it doesn't have to be "the right thing", as long as it's on the outside 👍

@davidbcohen @afewbugs Yea but there's some info on the internet saying that can possibly damage the glass if you tape it on without a bit of an air gap - it can heat up too much and cause thermal damage possibly.
