Something AMAZING happened tonight. An alpha release of the C64 core for the MEGA65 was announced on the discord and I've been able to confirm that the 1541u2+ works flawlessly, amongst a slew of other interesting cartridges.
This is such a massive feat and in my mind, makes this hands down the best 8 bit computer on the planet right now!

@dexterous Amazing news! To me, the core was already awesome before, as I could not find a demo that wouldn't run, but with 1541U2 compatibility, that is a whole new level! 🥰

@Datassette_User wholeheartedly agree Boris. The only thing competing with it previously was the Ultimate, but now they work in harmony.
Oh, I should test my ramlink. I hadn't thought to test that.
