    We're going to our local pride today. When we first went, I thought I was a cis/het ally. I'm not sure if going to pride helped me realise that I'm non-binary, but it certainly didn't hurt.

    I occasionally see people say that straight people shouldn't be at pride. Please don't. Even if they think they're straight, they might not be, and if they can't be around queer people, they might never realise their truth.

    @rpbook

    I lost count of the time "So and so's straight mate" came to our uni's then 'LGB' space, later came out as some kind of queer. It was one reason we officially later included wording on questioning. I think in many cases these were kinda pre-questioning "just with my mate" but that was still cool.

    I have never believed in policing spaces other than "here's the label for the space, you self-define ethically" and trust 99% of people to not be fuckwits.

    @rpbook @NatalyaD what, like that one guy and his buddies with cameras who were quickly ejected today?

    I'm still in shock at the police actually taking useful and reasonable action, tbh.
