I stopped at a convenience store on my way home and a message from Homeland Security was playing on the store radio. It began with a story about a rape by an immigrant and Donald Trump’s commitment to making America safe again. Next came a stern message in a man’s voice for illegal immigrants to leave the country immediately and never return. Following that was a message in the same harsh voice telling listeners that if they register at a Homeland Security website on their way out of the U.S. they might be allowed to return sometime in the future. The whole message was made to sound threatening. I found it quite disturbing.
