I wish we in the UK could mobilise half the outrage we express about "air conditioning is a waste of energy and bad for the planet" and target it at AI datacentres, short haul flights, the beef industry, fast fashion or golf courses. They all do huge amounts of planetary harm without the justification of potentially saving lives in a heatwave.

Tonight we have an extra kid in the house. Yup- it's a school night, but that doesn't matter. If there is a kid that needs help or refuge for a few days they are ALWAYS welcome here until the dust settles. We do this because we are parents too, and life is complicated. If it was our kid that needed help we would hopevthat another parent would provide a safe place to land.
As our communities move into virtual spaces we gotta make sure we don't forget the real world.

Look, I believe that your worth as a person is fully independent of your ethnicity and religious persuasion. Your politics, however, do affect your worth as a person. If your politics are such that you have to displace entire peoples to gain Lebensraum and found an ethnostate, your politics suck.
