it’s wild to me that you changed your visible name to “untethered”. i was driving today and had the thought, “i’m untethered.”

three good things

1: had the most positive experience of heartwrenching conflict today, that i’ve probably ever had in my life. conflict sucks, but i think it’s inevitable, especially the closer you are with someone. i am really, really grateful this conflict was handled the way it was handled, and i am especially grateful for such a relationship of fortitude. 🤍

2: i accidentally discovered some *really* delicious coconut ice cream pops (because they were out of my usual outshine bars, so they substituted for my pickup order). normally, i don’t approve substitutions because i can’t have “sugar”. i can, however, have “cane sugar” and that’s what was in these!! it was a very serendipitous event. ^◡^ 

3: last but very not least, it is time for bed, and i am going to fall into mine quite happily. :bunhdcomfyhappy:

1: the leak in our kitchen is mild enough we can keep the water on until the plumber gets here tomorrow.

2: also the plumber is able to come *tomorrow*.

3: aaand…i know the plumber and he is not a Scary Stranger.

two days in a row now where my animal crossing time got hijacked by fedi but i can’t say i mind terribly ;)

this place has Good People :’] ♡

my eight year old came up to me and said, “can i have $10?” i said, “why??”
“for minecraft.”
“why???”
“for an add-on!”
“why??” i say again, realizing this could be a fun game.
“because i like the add-on!” she says, desperately, becoming all too aware that i am turning this into a fun game (for myself).
“WHY!?” i squawk in laughter, wondering when this is going to end (and also feeling some genuine curiosity as to what she likes about it). 😂

she’s quiet for a hot second and then she goes, “why are you asking?”

😂😂😂

i’m so proud of her. she bested me. 🤓

each other
i can feel it

akin to the tenderest brush
of your lips
on my neck
and the breath i breathe out
in the tiniest gasp
of soft
and sweet
delight

i am not so rigid
now
you make me laugh
at things that would bring
a blush to my mother’s face
and you tolerate
levels of silliness
and uncouth linguistics
from me

we have relinquished
elitism
and snobbery
in favor of
joy
and laughter

and we are softening each other
i see it

it is like snow melting
under a warm sun
it feels like spring
when the ground has thawed
and the little shoots
peek through the soil
their fragile faces smiling
because the sun says to them

strong”

nature
is showing me
it is safe
to be tender
