Today I read an article from a person who said "I'm building a new house, and WiFi is so fast these days, I didn't need Ethernet in the walls. Also, I can put the access point on the center of the house, so I don't need a mesh network. And I'll use WiFi for my smart switches."

I feel so, so, bad for their family, but the comments system on the site requires signing up for some account, so I didn't bother telling them. They'll find out, the hard way.

This article recalls split-brain patient testing, where the left brain seems to make up explanations and believe them, even if they're not correct, for what the right brain does.

This seems spookily similar to what hallucinating LLM chatbots are doing!

The real reason Macs don't get a lot of games, isn't the technology, but the general business approach of Apple that is against the grain for a lot of game development studios and processes.

(And that business approach in turn leads to technology decisions that are also in the way.)

If you buy the oil industry nonsense that "heat pumps don't work when it's cold," how do you think freezers work?
They take heat from the inside, which is -20C, and move it to the backside coils, which get warm.
Heat pump. Right there. Still much more efficient than direct heating.

Forcing login on a console, to a publisher portal, with email and password, entered through a game controller, makes me want to return the game to the store.

I'm 15 minutes in and haven't even seen an opening scene yet.
