My boss asked me to do an HR skill assessment today. It's a self-assessment of skills related to my job role to help with career path progression.

As I was clicking through them and ranking myself, I realized I don't enjoy doing...any of them.

I might not want to do this job. And I might just be doing it because it pays well. And that sucks.

We went to a queer prom last night. My first. My wife got me a boutonniere and we bought prom dresses and all, which was lovely.

There was a drag queen, drag king, and burlesque, which was a nice addition to split up the evening. But I didn't have any 1's; just 20's. So at the end of the night, I went up to the queen and gave her a 20 for a good performance. She was super appreciative and we started chatting. She bought me a drink as a thank you.

My wife came over and we're all joking around. The queen makes a comment about how her Botox is wearing off. I go "I stopped with injectables a couple years ago. The trick is to just do a full FFS facelift and never have to worry about it again."

I saw her face kinda screw up for a second and (paraphrased for brevity) she says "I never would have known."

In queer spaces especially, some part of me still assumes I'm getting clocked. I don't worry about it, but I almost expect it. But I guess I'm just not anymore. Absolutely wild.

I am, admittedly, very frustrated by the argument that men deserve to have access to women's spaces. And this comes up far too much in trans spaces because there is an additional layer of intersectionality that isn't fully integrated into our conversations.

But I really need more men to understand that "women-only spaces" are not a slight against men. They are a necessity to give women opportunities that men have historically been handed right along.

Just saw someone say this. I didn't wanna be a jerk to them so I didn't reply directly and cropped them out bc this isn't like, a personal attack or anything.

But I do see this a lot with neurodivergent people. And it actually bugs me a bit because it's often used to assuage responsibility for an action or behavior. And I find that very frustrating because each individual is always responsible for their own actions.

Separating the brain from the "self" suggests they don't both belong to you. But ultimately they do, and they have to. Because nobody else can take responsibility for your actions.

Ok, this is leaving me kinda reeling.

This trans girl, who I've seen around (online) but not in like 1-2 years, makes a post with a LinkedIn-style headshot. She goes on a whole diatribe about how she knows *exactly* why were "losing the battle for trans rights." And she ties it back to her own success and how there isn't enough good representation of trans women. (Yes, women, not men or NB's apparently)

She then mentions how her bf has said the same thing, how she's the only successful trans woman he knows of.

But nowhere does she actually offer a solution, other than "get our faces out there."

So. I called her out. Where are the solutions? What's she doing? Is she correcting her bf? Why has she allowed him to believe this for so long? And why is her last post in *any* trans space 3+ years ago??

You don't get to barge in, "seagull manage" the community, and then act surprised when people take it personally.

Be a part of the fight. Don't just tell everyone else what to do.

Transphobes think that if they take away our hormones and surgeries, trans people will stop existing.

They are in for a hell of a surprise.

Is puppy girl/cat girl stuff a kink?

I saw some people talking about it just now and I always thought it was a kink thing, but now I'm not so sure?

The straights are always SO worried about whether or not it's "gay" to date a trans person.

But honestly, we're not gonna date you anyway, so it's really not your problem.

I only like people who are secure in their sexualities. 💅

Honestly, this is how I've been approaching it.

"Yeah, there's hypocrisy here. But the bigger issue is that if Republicans didn't demonize kink, none of this would be an issue at all. We're not the ones who created shame around issues like this. They did. And now it's eating their own, as it always has and always does and always will."
