My brain when I am wearing a mask for smoke/air quality reasons and walk into an air-conditioned store: Hey, that was a threshold! Aren’t we supposed to toggle mask status on thresholds? 🤓
Me: NO! We are not flipping mask-toggling protocol! We are going all-mask-all-the-time! INITIATE FULL QUARIAN MODE! 😷
This is basically why I just wear a mask whenever I'm indoors with other people (even in my own home). Much less cognitive burden.
@cavyherd Ah, but the problem is that in the time since the last wildfire smoke, I’ve become unaccustomed to wearing a mask outside. So it isn’t about the store being ‘safe’ or not — I always mask in such places — but being used to going from outside to inside meaning a change in air safety and therefore a change in masking. 🤷🏻♀️
Fair point! I also don't generally mask outdoors. & that is noticeably less comfortable, especially if it's hot, especially if one is exercising.
