Okay so you need to change CDE from using TPS to HP-UX's LP, and now I can just print from HP-UX. Over the network. To a modern wifi printer.
This is so fucking extra, I love it.
HP-UX 11i is just such an amazing operating system. With enough patience and stupidity, it can do pretty much anything.
I wish wish wish it was eaiser to run, because I'm fairly sure it would totally be possible to port modern-ish software to it. I just lack the skills to do so.
Anyway I can now print from my c8000. I will never use this functionality ever again, but at least I know it's there.
It's the little things, man.
Also I was laughing like a maniac in my office when all of this came together and my wife popped in and was like "wtf is wrong with you" lol
@thomholwerda did you go down the PCL or PostScript route for this?
I was gonna guess PCL but hell.. late 90s UNIX.. could be either.
@colinstu Selected generic PCL as the script for JetDirect and... Boom, it worked.
