If you ever have trouble getting into the BIOS, and your BIOS boot logo won't even show, but it will boot into your OS... Try switching from DP to HDMI.

@thomholwerda I think with rust's GCC code gen it might not be as insane a proposition as it might seem. HPPA is still supported in current GCC.
It's probably not insanely difficult. I expect the biggest problem might be spidermonkey, I don't know if there's still a non-jit option.
And I just honestly have no idea how hard it'd be to make a hppa jit for it, nor how usable it'd be without jit.
But I think it'd be possible. My guesstimate is that it'll be more "annoying" than "difficult"
So far, in the past week or so, there have been two near in-flight accidents between passenger jets and United States refueling planes above Curaçao (a constituent country of the Kingdom of The Netherlands a few kilometres off the coast of Venezuela). The US military planes fly "dark", without transponders and such, so air traffic control on the island has no clue they're there. The comms are pretty terrifying.
This is going to go wrong at some point, further illustrating that the Americans are no longer our allies.
Question for #retrocomputing repair experts; I have two motherboards that act identically. They sometimes do work. (This is a #sun sparc motherboard, PC rules don't really apply)
I have tested a different PSU to no avail.
I've measured voltages across all capacitors and there are several where the voltage across them is lower than the supply (I see 4.7 v instead of the 5.05 I see everywhere else)
Is this in fact an indication that that particular cap might be bad?

Anyway I can now print from my c8000. I will never use this functionality ever again, but at least I know it's there.

HP-UX 11i is just such an amazing operating system. With enough patience and stupidity, it can do pretty much anything.
I wish wish wish it was eaiser to run, because I'm fairly sure it would totally be possible to port modern-ish software to it. I just lack the skills to do so.
Okay so you need to change CDE from using TPS to HP-UX's LP, and now I can just print from HP-UX. Over the network. To a modern wifi printer.
