@newsmast huge congrats to @TimFullerton and all the team!

Looks exciting! Congrats!
Just wanted to try but apparently couldn't use the app because I haven't connected my android phone to a Google account. :/ Guess in the end, we still need to rely on billionaires to use the app?
Any fix planned to let us use it without being tracked by Google?
(Not on a custom ROM. Simply on Android as everyone else but downloaded the app through Aurora)
@imacrea @michael @newsmast @TimFullerton Further down the track yes

I imagine, but I guess what's blocking and why such choice? Is it something that could be fixed in the very near future (in the coming weeks) or is this more complicated?
@imacrea @michael @newsmast @TimFullerton I Imagine this has some basis on enabling faster onboarding and give new users an experience as similar as possible to what they are already used to across the web. But, yeah, I wonder if creating this much reliance on Google was truly necessary
