Find Out Social is an app built solely for Find Out Social users. It's connected to the Social Web whilst sheltering the community from complexity, allowing them to share knowledge and work to combat the rise of the right.

So, last week was crazy 👀
The team travelled across the Channel to Amsterdam for the @publicspaces conference. There, we met with an amazing group of people - leaders in the social media space, politicians, journalists, lecturers, and many many more cool people.
And, if you didn't hear, we won the Grand Prize at the inaugural Open Social Awards 🏆️ ✨️

I first met the folks at Newsmast last year at the International Journalism Festival. The work they’ve done between then and now to build social spaces that provide real value to newsrooms, movements, and communities is astonishing. And they’re only just starting. If you’re not watching their work - you should be.
Last Friday, I was honored to receive an Excellence Award at the #OpenSocialAwards from @wearenew_public @publicspaces and @waag for https://sill.social, my personalized news application for the open social web! It was incredible to share the stage with the other winners, @newsmast and @blackskyweb.xyz, two projects I deeply admire. Thank you to the organizers, the jury, and everyone who's given Sill a chance so far!

This initiative by @wearenew_public, PublicSpaces and @waag aims to give the field of decentralised social media a serious boost. The grand prize of €10.000 goes to the @newsmast. The Excellence Awards, each of €5.000, go to @blackskyweb.xyz and @sillapp. And the honourable mentions go to Bounce, Dandelion, Streamplace, Leaflet, and Bonfire Networks.

Very well deserved. I feel more assured that #newsmast as a good steward of the #indiewebSocial community was a very solid steward, and they are doing great work for the #OpenSocialWeb.
