Sep 15, 2026, 12:30 PM@jon I know Vivaldi is a Swiss army knife app. But I'd love to be able to get a version with everything default off. I like a minimalist browser.

@ryanl , our experience is that what people refer to as minimal varies a lot. Have you tried to install Vivaldi recently? We have a number of setups to choose between and some are really quite minimal.

@jon I have and I do have Vivaldi installed on my machine. But minimal to me is stripping out a lot of the functionality to a very baseline browser with excellent privacy/ad blockers and good protection against web threats.
I applaud what Vivaldi is doing but even the minimal out of the box config is noise to me. I know that is a feature for Vivaldi and a number of its fans which is fine.
I do appreciate that Brave offered a stripped down version of it's browser with a one-time fee.
