I'm confused when you say "managed" do you mean server hosting and their server hosting company decided they violated TOS, or were told by the US government to do this?
Or is this about DNS?
I read about the US starting to do something similar to the UK, calling organizations "terrorist" on ever expanding and flexible pretexts but I'm surprised it resulted in pages going down so quickly.
@futurebird the .ORG TLD is managed, as any TLD, by a registry.
The .ORG registry is a US company, and as such, they are supposed to obey any US law or regulation ...
even if your registrar (which buys the domain for your from the registry) may be from another country
as of now, autistici.org has this status in the whois :
