@patsplat looks fun!

Omg I just deleted 54 txt msgs asking for money received since YESTERDAY! Just needed to vent because I give money to candidates I care about, but this spam is driving me nuts…

@patsplat I can’t believe we’re abdicating 😅

In covering a story about the nation of Naoero changing their name to reverse a colonial mispronunciation, the news completely misses the point with this caption.

Lovely first person period read but not as saucy as I hoped @patsplat

The story of substandard quality schools in Bed Stuy goes way back. Listen to School Colors podcast for the full story.

I live adjacent to the Jones’ neighborhood, and this read is real. My son is just a few years younger than her daughter, and just started high school. He went from being the only white kid and the only privileged kid in his community elementary and middle schools to now becoming just one in a big ocean in his specialized high school. I realized early on that my privilege would not and could not change those schools. Dedicated educators matter! These schools are just one retirement away…

@patsplat a cautionary tale… in two parts.

I laughed so hard!

I wish it was silent Sunday again… but making it through hump day!

My question about the Hugging Face hack is - What was the training set for the agents that broke the law?

Happy #caturday take a tip from Nikko and spend some time self-soothing today. This week was a lot.

Today @patsplat and I went to the beach and we’re having the nicest day, just a perfect beach day, when the cops came by and their horse left a big turd on the beach right in front of us. It was amusing for awhile to see how beach combers reacted to it. The tide was coming in, and as it rolled in the surf closer and closer the smell was too much for me and we realized we had to go. All cops… even the horses?

Sorry Canada! We’ll do better.

I really appreciate my beautiful blue bubble—a state and a city that provides resources to folks to overcome barriers and thrive. It’s a vision that takes hard work to deliver—every day. It takes trust, expertise, alignment, relationships, and dedication. I’m thinking about Canada and the brave decision they were forced to make, and the kindness they continue to extend to us. We can repay them by working to bring this horrific era to an end, and of course continue to maintain our friendship!

I had the privilege of attending an event at Gracie Mansion, the home of NYC Mayor Zohran Kwami Mamdani, and was so pleased they kept this Lenape turkey feather cape on display, and curated the rest of this corridor with more appropriate work.

I used a good portion of my Caturday to catch up with the state of the world here. Thank you Fedizens! I like when I get to see cool new discoveries, and I happened to read about how pre-agrarian Mediterraneans maintained trade and relationships over the ocean to support far flung communities.
