Not suspicious at all that 6 months ago the Internet was full of people shouting "#Alberta should separate from #Canada! That's what everybody in Alberta wants"
and today the Internet is full of people shouting "the vast majority of votes are being cast in favour of staying in Canada" - ie if you're #remain you don't need bother taking the time to go vote.
Not suspicious at all!
Don't be fooled - apathy from the sensible majority is how the UK ended up screwing themselves over #Brexit

If you still believe that Trump is the fundamental problem and some action such as invoking the 25th Amendment, even if that were possible (it's absolutely not, ffs; do the Cabinet and Congressional counting), would make a real difference in..well, any of this, then you have *chosen* to not understand the situation and I can't respect your opinion.

"It is difficult to get a person to understand something when their comfort depends on their not understanding it." – paraphrase of quote by Upton Sinclair

This applies to everyone who still expresses any shock, surprise, or disbelief at actions by or statements of Donald Trump, his administration, or any of his backers or supporters.

The chaos and violence ARE the point; their tools and weapons of choice as they loot the coffers of the world and amass all power under their control.

WAKE UP!!

For those who choose to not understand, likely because it's difficult and requires their direct involvement and action well beyond "just" voting:

Voting, *alone*, will not save us.

Voting, alone, got Trump elected twice, and has consistently delivered weak to no opposition to increasingly conservative and now full-blown fascist authoritarian rule throughout *most* of my 67+ years alive.

Vote, yes, and always, but what are you *doing*, and with whom are you communicating, between elections?

But they're both better than the toady, Jimmy Fallon, who's just gross.

And as I posted before, Kimmel is absolutely not a good person.

Colbert has earned much more of the response that Kimmel is getting.

It's all just..weird. Reeks of virtue signaling to me, this disparity.

So everyone's™️ outraged about Jimmy Kimmel getting fired, or whatever, but not about Stephen Colbert getting cancelled.

So, what's the difference other than the timing, immediate versus May 2026?

It's basically the same corporate action done for the exact same reason.

If you're canceling Disney/Hulu/ABC then you should be doing exactly the same for Paramount Skydance/ParamountPlus/CBS.

Why is anyone in the U.S. thinking in terms of "four years", or "midterms ", or "elections" (beyond typical authoritarian kinds)?

Have people not been paying attention? Will these people continue to be "Shocked! Shocked!" with each new decision made by this administration?

That anyone believes anything but the worst will happen is how he got re-elected.

This time there are no obstacles to his enacting or enabling anything he chooses.

Stop your willful ignorance, this is real.

I hope that now and forever every CEO and corporate executive, corporate board member, and Wall Streeter lives in fear of the direct consequences of their actions which harm consumers, their employees, or the public at large.

It would be just and fair.
