    It was 40F/4C this morning and pitch black as I got on my bike for work.

    I have a decent headlight and tail light integrated into my e-bike, plus a road construction grade reflective yellow coat. So I feel decently visible.

    But I don't like riding in the dark. I don't like the narrow field of vision with my small headlight. My neighborhood streets are dark and pot-holed.

    I might take the bus in the morning again instead, and ride my bike home in the afternoon.

    @JillsJoy I feel the same way about riding in the dark. I bought a really bright headlight to add on my e-bike and now I still don’t ride in the dark.

    @LabSpokane thanks for replying. It helps me feel like I'm not the only one. 🙂

    @JillsJoy
    When I was communicating in the dark, I added a 500 lumen lamp to the top of my helmet in addition to the bike mounted light. The helmet light would then point where I was looking. It made a huge difference. I could see around corners on the curvy wooded multiuse path. And it would point at cars at intersections as I was looking at them. Maybe that might help.

    @bougiewonderland maybe. This headlight came with the bike and is already integrated with the battery system.

    It is getting colder and darker, and snow will be here soon enough (I hope). I just want to hit my 200 miles and then I'll probably put it on pause until spring.

    I don't want my bike ride to become a chore or something I no longer look forward to. Too cold, too dark: not positive reinforcement.
