when I imagine all the linux folks suddenly getting into any of the bsds I'm seeing the stephanie meyer twilight 4chan xkcd* "troll slayer" in my mind and have to quietly giggle "whos your favorite vampire" 😂

how hard can it be ;)
ha runj apparently (if I remember firecracker in aws' serverless eks correctly they added a containerd shim to serve the container wrapped in a firecracker microvm)
so "lol" all I need is runmvm on a netbsd, poke containerd a little *handwave* and et viola k3s will run perfectly ;)
meh runc
hm so if k3s is containerd and containerd is now running on freebsd hm hm what else do I need (other than I'd prefer netbsd..)
the ONLY reason for me to not yet switch fully to a #bsd is the prevalence of container-based kubernetes which is very useful to me. I can't hack microvm support as a container alternative quite fast enough. nomad as lovely as it was never gained the ecosystem I'd like and now IBM. meh.
As slackware user (or my own .. #linux concoction ;) I also never had any use for systemd and I never liked debian either.
generally my ~2000 hosts platform would run just fine on a bsd however.

This is the result of nearly two months of tight collaboration to get a number of issues fixed in a way that won’t bite us a second time. We also made sure we closed all open reports in one release as not to leave anybody hanging.
Even though all reports were AI generated and included multiple (sometimes partial) duplicates, and slugging through those is soul-erasing, we are doing our duty by our end-users and making sure you have the safest CouchDB to run yet.
I know that many artists use a digital sketch tablet thing - what do I look for and: do I get results off of it easy-peasy via usb or something under Linux?
a really interesting article: https://www.cockroachlabs.com/blog/experiment-running-hospital-code/ about "processes" encoded into agents based on operational procedures in hospitals. this can of course be done entirely without LLMs.
I've worked in a tiny local emergency room for two years and I like "operations" so this process-oriented view struck a chord.
I still draw inspiration from how harnesses work - recently I've been thinking a lot about the whole memory stuff - so I'm adding workflows and processes back into my mind. :)
new laptop maybe? hmm basic setup 1800... ok adding RAM wait why is it now the price of two laptops???? :(
Anyone with open commissions who wants to do some #art for NetBSD?
We've got a budget for paying for some concept art and can later talk about working with you on some merch. DM us!
Naturally, we cannot accept contributions using generative AI.
book series "something something - the missing fixing broken shit manual"
I go at great length to explain stuff (which objectively really sucks and is not very well documented..)
collegue throws it at claude.
claude says "susanne is right..."
call me claudine.
whenever I'm setting up some operations foo - monitoring, playbooks, alerts, debugging guides I'm realizing how few projects have really good guides what to look at and how to fix it.
almost everything and everybody focuses on how to set things up and how to configure stuff, sometimes how to optimize things.
where's the rest of my owls 😂
is there/was there already an open source fork of nomad and/or consul?
this reads as a pretty deranged "prediction" https://ai-2027.com/race and yet I'm certain that some things will go down like this because some WANT it to develop like this.
So basically a labubu apocalypse.
coffee shoyu why not
