@PavelASamsonov The fundamental issue there is the plain and simple fact that when upper management starts getting out of the way more, they start being the ones who are "redundant."

I have a sneaking suspicion that while a lot of them have egos the size of the sun, somewhere deep inside they realize this...

By eliminating lower level humans from the equation, they can pretend they're the ones who made the great achievement.

@human3500 @PavelASamsonov I frequently "joke" that the only people that """AI""" can actually replace without doing more harm than good is management.

I have to emphasize those quotes here. It's not really a joke (and LLMs are not and will never be AI.)

Of course, a lot of what management does could be replaced by a random coin tossing machine and still produce better results. 🤷‍♂️

@human3500 @nazokiyoubinbou We've certainly seen companies (Amazon, Meta, Microsoft) cut deep in the middle management layer. Meta set 50 reports per manager as a goal for their new AI org, before backpedaling rapidly as soon as they realized how stupid of an idea that was...

@PavelASamsonov ”There’s an interesting side effect to our current stage of the LLM hype cycle: in the race for maximum agility, organizations have given it functionally unlimited trust. Ten years ago, you wouldn’t dream of giving everyone in the company access to Github (ask me about filing Jira tickets to change a static string on a website); today, Claude is trusted to run roughshod over the codebase.”

Really hit the nail on the head! Some kind of blindness comes with size?🤔
