The Hayabusa2 flyby of Torifune is an example of a "fast reconnaissance concept" where close by spacecraft designed for completely different missions might be swiftly conscripted to check out an asteroid that is on a collision course for the Earth. Turns out... that can work out quite well 😂

@sharponlooker They have a short movie (well, several photos taken in quick succession) as Hayabusa2 flew by. It's fucking unbelievable given the speed!
