I love how a spokesperson said that "fires were not unexpected" as two engines had to put out the fire on the Brooklyn Bridge during New York's fireworks display. Uh no. I expect zero fires, actually. Photo Credit: The Seattle Times.

@kimlockhartga in Sydney they are doing similar fireworks on the Harbor Bridge every year, and I have never seen a fire...

@carstenfranke If you do it professionally, there shouldn't be one. A few sparks, maybe, but not a full-on blaze.
