@captainvellalives I thought this was a real interview until I started reading the comments.
Says something about modern day politicians and journalists.
And what about the front of the ship that fell off?

@enbypirate Clarke and Dawe are a bit legendary for that. It used to air at the end of a program called 7:30 which is an otherwise very serious deep dive into the news of the day which made it even harder to distinguish from satire XD
@captainvellalives i love that. The best form of satire is the form whose front doesn't fall off and is hard to distinguish from reality.
A reality that is hard to distinguish from satire on the other hand is a very bad realtiy and I think we should fry some big corporate and government fish to unfuck that realitiy.
@enbypirate Absolutely. 💯 . The world we have today is almost immune to satire by being more ridiculous than satire ever could be. THAT IS A VERY BAD THING
@enbypirate Like even today. I saw a post of people waiting for Trump's address and on Fox News the live coverage was video of Trump watching himself live on Fox News standing around while folks waited for him. That's beyond satire
@captainvellalives yeah. Imagine they put shit like this into a Monty Python movie. You'd probably laugh your ass off cause this is so ridiculous and.. excuse the word, but it is so fucking stupid.
And here we are. I a world where this is reality and people stopped using the organ between their ears.
@captainvellalives and meanwhile in Germany people are doing comedy about pretty brutal stuff, people who suffered violence and so on, label it as satire and feel intelligent.
They once heard that Kurt Tucholsky, an ardent leftist, said "What is satire allowed to do? Everything!" and then they stopped thinking. Because reading the entire text (which isn't very long) is beyond them. They just hear those two sentences, think "Oh if I label the awful shit I'm saying as satire I am allowed to do anything" and then they go on.
@enbypirate Oh god the folks that think satire is a license to unleash all their hate and prejudice on the world will absolutely bury us. Satire is a tool to hold those in power to account, to mock establishments that require respect to function as a way to bring them to heel. Using it as an excuse to unleash hatred is fucked...
@captainvellalives absolutely. This is why there can't be a right wing satire.
@enbypirate Babe I'm Australian. I hear worse language getting petrol :Blobhaj_Heart_Trans:
