Every stage of the signal passing from sensor to camera output to relay across the network to editing suite to relay across the network to broadcast tower/local cable to TV input to TV image processing to screen... has a variable digital buffer delaying things a bit.
Even in our own house, with the TV in the front room and the TV in the kitchen both on there is a noticeable two or three second difference between the two.
Back in the days of Live Aid - when everything was analogue - I remember you could walk from room to room, go outside and hear the concert from the open windows of every house and the music was in sync. I even had it on my Walkman radio and could watch the picture on the TV.
