like I’ve been part of the fandom for well over half my life. like since I was a really young teen. the creators I knew back then that heavily inspired me, my stuff and what I’ve become are like just gone. I don’t see them around anymore ‘nor do ppl talk about them anymore. I remember all of them being like a huge part of the fandom and just like, no one even remembers them anymore. I’m terrified of being forgotten especially since I just don’t have the time or energy to start/join so many big projects like I once did. Been heavily more focused on myself and things I enjoy, glad ppl are still sticking around

@tkwolf I believe a lot of it is just shifting demographics. a lot of new furries are expressing themselves and contributing to the fandom individually rather than as a collective which I get. I spent a lot of time and energy pushing the fandom to be more individualistic since i believe (and still do) that it brings out the most creativity. love how many subcategories of furry there are now compared to like even 10 years ago. unfortunately one of the downsides is i find the need for big projects kinda dwindled. what i still do find success in is like low key fun lil impromptu chill gatherings. I’ll like throw out posts saying hey come skateboard w/ me at x location at anthrocon and ppl will show up. I’m at least happy for that and it fills up my creative itch
