    Afternoon 🌞

    Totally new route this morning

Had to use Organic Maps (on the fly) to plot my way through the trail part.

    Left at 0528Hrs
Temp 26c Humidity 77% and a pleasinig stiff wind

    15K

10k of which was done on roads
5K trail run - though to call the trail bit a run is generous, it was climbing, scrambling, sliding hiking and running...and it was so much fun.

I've a bucket load of photos which I'll try and post, when I'm not doing chores.

The sun climbing into the sky about 50 mins after sunrise, it encounters a thin smoke trail like cloud in the blue morning sky. In the immediate foreground is St Pauls Island surrounded by the Mediterranean sea, a stone cross sits on the island. It is said that this is where St Paul the apostle was shipwrecked in AD60 (so quite a while ago) there is a small straight of water between the island and the main island of Malta, the photo is taken from Blata il-Bajda and apart from the noise of the sea on the shore below the cliffs, there isn't another sound. It is more peaceful than anywhere I have ever been on Earth...then again it is 0640am...so not entirely surprising.
At the bottom of the image is data from the polar pacer running watch
activity: running
duration: 2:10:04
distance: 15.06km
avg pace: 8:39 m/km
avg hr: 139 bpm
a map showing route taken indicated as a red line that twists and turns from st pauls bay to Xemxija to Selmun tower to Blata il-Bajda - to Mistra Bay back to Xemxija and back home to St Pauls Bay
the suns first breach, a small slither of sunlight appears just at the horizon, the sea and small boats are bathed in the orange light as the sun places its first kiss onto the sky and the sea. everything is thrown into silhouette, except white umbrella canopy's and the white of the hulls of the numerous small boats in Xemxija Bay
Another view of the moring sunrise, the sun is fuller now, more a sphere and less a segment, it is bright orange/yellow, above it the sky is full of broken clouds brought in on the strong overnight wind and enough to mop up the humidity. on one side of the road there are houses and cars and the other side a low wall then a fence at the edge of the shoreline.
