    I'll say it again: I believe that climate change will pass a tipping point at which point lignin will become impossible to make or sustain and there will be a mass die-off of trees. At that point climate change will hit the planet like a thunderbolt, and extinction will take place.

    @climatenewsnow living in Chicago (which has one of the best urban forestry services in the nation or the world) I can say that I love our trees and notice the lack of trees in other cities.

    But the article does not cover one (very real) cost: tree-lined streets clog sewers. Street sweeping (at a cost of fuel, pollution, and labor) absolutely must occur frequently.
