I want to like @nextcloud , but having a pop-up auto updater on windows set to the "stable" channel, which prompts me every single time I boot my PC really is souring on me.
Either fix your updater to run silently in the background or get your releases sorted and die to 6-12 per year.
A stable channel with multiple updates a week for a small companion application is not acceptable.
Why do you have a beta and daily channel if your stable channel gets updates that often?

@nextcloud there are already threads regarding this and the frequent updates seem to be a state confusion in your updater.
Still a silent updater like modern browsers do it would be a real improvement.
You really don't want users to disable auto update after all.

@mxk Beeing honest, yes: I loathe the frequent updates, but no: please do not switch to silent updates, at least only as an option. While most updates run smooth, I lately encountered several that crushed the Nextcloud, mostly due to third party software esp. PHP and PostgreSQL. So I require to monitor any update to ensure a fast reaction when necessaey.
