You don't reduce inequalities with tax breaks (or keeping the status quo of no VAT/no kerosene tax in the flying sector): while tax breaks give the illusion of reducing the bills for the poorest, they mostly benefit the rich who consume much more, and erode the general public budget that benefits all and in particular the poorest.

Same with tax breaks on car fuel during an oil crisis, etc.
