The first iteration was actually in 2013 on breadboad with a big mess o wires. Then in 2014 I heard about the Retro Challenge and decided to see if I could move it from breadboard to PCB.The hashtag everybody used for Retro Challenge in 2014 was #RC2014 and that seemed like a good name for the computer.
So, yes, it comes from the year 2014, but the RC does not stand for Retro Computer as many people think!
