    Super interesting!

I think this "Not sure if I like this thought, but I think I hierarchy and structure" is something I`ve been feeling as well, and I have conflicting feelings around it.

Also I think a lot of the visual cringe might be a result of trying to grab attention in a crowded space, with or without an algorithm behind it.

I also feel like the disconnect between the art and the artists makes this more attractive for people to have SOMETHING for context.

Also something about this "browsing"... The music is disconnected from a community, a movement, a place etc. so you end up just browsing "everything". Maybe tags or genres, but still there it is too much.

I even notice in my own library I forget the name of artists and just go by the album art, because there are not enough threads helping me remember the name.

People I have met, read enough about or watched videos with etc. I might remember more easily because of a person.

@lislegaard @yefra Yeah true. I also wonder if #subvert doesn’t lack of a “curated” base community that forges its artistic identity the same way its interface design and politics does. But that would come with some kind of hierarchy too.

Most times I think about this topic I end up thinking that the store should just be a store and that the curation, discovery and connection to the artist could happen on a platform (or non-platform) optimized for this connection rather than the sale.

But this is labor which most people want to get something back for, and the easiest is getting money back, which in turn is most easy to get from the store (of music of music equipment) so here we are.

@lislegaard @raphael the store can be the store and yes, it implies work ; but I think this is already engramed in the structure of Subvert, with the séparation between the corporaton and the coopérative.

The curation should be a community(ies) thing, and it was out of discussion on the subvert's forum which, for me, tells a lot of things !

but a lot of thanks 2 you, and I agree with all your observations !
