Why do you think communists wanted to ban industries?

The communist thinkers were entusiastically in favour of the industrial revolution. But they wanted to control it, as in "seize the means of production".

When the labour movement insisted on safety measures in the factories and the redistribution of wealth, not because of any hatred against the technology of the industrial revolution, but as a way to transform it into a sustainable future.

I was reading Mahatma Gandhi's Book 'Hind Swaraj' (Indian Home Rule). He was a socialist. He blamed Industrial Revolution for the corruption of British.

He also idealized the village life of India as it was self-sufficient, close to nature & spirituality.

The first PM of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, was pragmatic & advocated for modernization while preserving the culture, heritage, & diversity of India.

AI has vast potential & should not be demonised.

Gandhi as a sosialist? Well, I need to think about that. Is that the most common political label put on him?

The first successful communist revolution was in Russia, to the horror of most communists at the time, because it was supposed to happen in a industrialized country, like UK, France, Germany or USA.

Russian the started an ambitious program of industrialization, with considerable success.

Communists in the tradition of Marx and Lenin love industrialization.
