It’s absolutely nutso that Ring ever became popular, because the technology to do this without the Internet already existed.
@louie damn and I bet they all don’t verbally remind you that “you are currently being recorded” every time you walk by your neighbors’ houses.

@louie Intercoms are nearly universal here/in Japan; video doorbells are just very common.
