    A thought.

    Some people say "Don't let yourself be defined by your mistakes."
    And while I see reason in that statement, let me raise another opinion: DO let yourself be defined by them.

    Don't pretend your past mistakes aren't there. Know them. Remember them. Feel them. Take that uncomfortable feeling, that guilt, that shame. And use them to shape yourself into a person you can be more proud of than the one you were yesterday.

    Of course, I don't mean you should spend all day every day thinking about things you did wrong. That can quickly go too far, and at some point you'll find yourself sitting at home, wallowing in self-pity.

    You are defined by both your mistakes and your victories. Take your missteps and your triumphs, and let them inspire you to become someone who, at the end of the day, can look back at their life and not regret living it after all.
