On the other hand.. I don‘t know any legal or technical obstacles to train AI on mastodon posts.

You can ask chatgpt about your mastodon profile and it will tell you quite a bit. (Not sure if that's training per se or if it just looks through it on the spot and summarizes, but either way, disgusting stuff.)
