47 miles, 1900 calories burned since lunch, and I was the last one over the border before it closed for the night. It was mostly beautiful, sometimes stunning, sometimes merely picturesque. Now I'm going to pass out.
Ooh I knew I'd be slower than the average cyclist, but I'm even slower than my estimate. Oh well, still taking an ice cream break in the heat of the day. It was going to be a beer break, but the beer is a block uphill out of the way and somehow although I'm intentionally biking 60+ miles today that feels too far.
Route so far, It has a circle on it, but I didn't do that, gps malfunction.
Lunch break completed and I'm ready to move on.
The grilled cheese here has American cheese in it, blah, but the beer is great and the little carrot salad slaw that came with it is something I will attempt to recreate at home, so good.
Now to bike south :)
Starting the journey with some budget yachting, and taking the ferry to the other side of the river instead of starting the journey with a slow climbing slog across a bridge.

Some folks will hear that our vacation consists in cycling for 100s of km and will think that we are spending our time doing great fitness efforts or something, and in reality we are cycling from town to town and stopping for a croissant, coffee and cake, a nice lunch, more coffee and cake, take a close-up picture of some random flower ...
It is indeed amusing to see the #TourDeFrance cyclists follow pretty much the same route we did last Easter break, in such an extremely different way.

Also a pet peeve when I ask nutritional content of something and it says "empty calories" or I ask for sources of some vitamin or whatever and it says "plain _____" . Is it saying plain yogurt contains potassium that raspberry or vanilla yogurt lacks or is this just another side effect of a weight-loss frame to nutrition?
