Cisco is still in the works of making some documentation to support this, so maybe we get more details later. But this IS the recommended procedure from Cisco to install Cisco Secure Client on macOS.

I will recommend to hide the uninstaller apps afterwords, by running a script that gives them the hidden flag, so users do not easily see these.

The correct package to deploy from is “webdeploy”! It’s downloaded as a pkg, which could look like a macOS installer pkg, but it is actually a zip-archive. Yes, even Cisco knows that if you need to cheat your download through web filters, you should rename your zip-archives to .pkg 😃

Rename the webdeploy pkg so it ends in “.zip”, then expand it, and go to the “binaries” folder. In here are the individual installer separated into dmg-files, so just grab the installers you need.

Many of us have for years tried to deploy the “predeploy” pkg prom the downloaded dmg. Either using InstallerChoices to select which components to install, or splitting (repackaging) the meta-package into individual installers to make sure only the needed ones are installed.

But this procedure is NO MORE!

So I'm working on another #macOS app that adds #Shortcuts support to apps that don't have them. Namely… to all of them. 😅

UI Actions adds #ShortcutsApp actions for selecting/showing menus, clicking buttons, hitting keys, typing text. It's a very reduced set of functions right now but I wanted to get the beta out of the door, and “perfect” is the enemy of "ever”.

@technicat the original Mac UI devs noticed and solved so many problems in *1986* that more recent Web 2.0+ frontend devs just ignore -- like this one, *drag delay* -- solving the problem that when the user moves their cursor towards an item on a popup menu, the mouse may drift outside the lines momentarily *en route*, so you should make sure not to close the menu prematurely; these days lots of popup menus instantly pop closed if you stray outside their bounds #UI #UX

I contribute a lot to Installomator by participating in our Mac Admins Slack channel. Today I got a simple PR merged that clarified some comment code and improved logging entries about how one of it's features works. But not everyone is ready to upgrade and som admins wants to prevent their users from running the Sonoma installer app.

Admins can install profiles to delay the upgrade, but what if users download the Sonoma installer from somewhere else and install that thing?
