with no noted dissents.

The 2023 jury verdict finding that Trump sexually abused and defamed advice columnist E. Jean Carroll
is now final.

The president is out of courts to shop this to,
and he’ll get no more appeals.

Yesterday in #WashingtonDC, on the steps of the Capitol where protest is currently not allowed (!), an active duty officer in the #AirForce deliberately broke the law to honor his oath of service. He called for the removal of Trump, and he wore his uniform to do it.

Rep. Al Green, my favorite member of Congress, and the Removal Coalition stood with him, as did a crowd of DC protesters.

I got angrier and angrier as I wrote this for Dame Magazine. The collapse of this country’s civic morality dovetails with the cruelty and corruption that dominates policy. The rest of our institutions are being dragged down by or are abetting it. That’s the thing on my mind this 4th.

I hit on the importance of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission at the end because we desperately need a symbolic, public break with the depravity of this period. It’s no substitute for criminal accountability, but it needs to come with it.
