@morten_skaaning Yeah and it’s the same with all art forms. Ted Chiang wrote an essay about it in 2024 called “Why A.I. Isn't Going to Make Art”. (Paywalled though)
There is a John Carmack quote on how game development is about making thousands of small choices, which shape what you can do.
But with LLMs you aren't even aware of possible choices because you're not making them.

Most of the work went into reconstructing the dynamic initializers by cross-referencing COFF groups in the PDB with sections in the object file.
Extra shout out to Alexandre Ganea from Haven for all his help!
Went thrifting with my partner yesterday, and found a perfect cup for Fedi.
I'm new here
@Mastodon Hi, is this the official Patreon page for Mastodon? https://www.patreon.com/c/mastodon
It has received no updates in 2026, so I'm wondering if it's still active.
Most people know my stance on it, but it has to be said at this point:
As long as Live++ is 100% under my control, there won't be any AI feature of any kind in it, and exactly 0% of its code will be written by any AI.
Same for future releases of other tools.
inspired by CLAUDE.md, I’ve started putting markdown files named after coworkers into work code repos so I can remind them to stop doing shit to the codebase that annoys me
for some reason they’re all mad at me now, which means ill be adding commands to JEREMY.md for an attitude adjustment
I’m happy to announce the release of a new open source 3D physics engine called Box3D. I’ve been working on this project for a few years now, but it represents over 20 years of experience writing physics engines for games. Read more here: https://box2d.org/posts/2026/06/announcing-box3d/
Jose Chung's From Outer Space is the best X-Files episode ever.
meshoptimizer 1.2 is out! Featuring support for tangent generation, a significantly faster vertex decoder for Intel/AMD CPUs, several new smaller algorithms (cluster position compression, triangle filtering, clusterlod BVH) and various optimizations and improvements. GitHub stars and retoots appreciated!

This seems good.
I was fortunate enough to be on the Wookash podcast, and given the opportunity to ramble on about Magic Carpet, Dungeon Keeper, Fable, No Man’s Sky, amongst other things.
If I seem more than averagely shiny-headed and husky, it was in the middle of a heatwave and was approximately Gas Mark 6 in my office…
RE: https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@superluminal/116833921745475701
The year of Superluminal on the Linux desktop is finally here!
It has been a huge undertaking, way, way (way) bigger than we ever expected, so I'm super excited to finally release this to the wild.
Really curious to see how well this works outside of our relatively small group. Please give it a try and let us know how it works for you!
