poor little friend spent a week in the fridge! but e perked up within about 30 seconds of being found and put at room temperature. e's now outside, trying eir luck in the garden ... (away from anything sensitive and with a good supply of leaves)

i have, therefore, made this CENTIGRELSIUS dew-point dankness scale based on the original but with my own ... flavours.

i've been consulting your most excellent dew point dankness scale recently and wondering why, when IT FEELS SO DANK TO OPPRESSIVE, the scale tells me it's (SAHARAN TO) CRISPY.

and then i realised that the heat has clearly melted my brain, for of course i'm seeing the dew point in c but looking at a chart in f. :oh_no:

as such! could you please remake / would you mind if i remade said most excellent scale for those of us in the other letter?

i hope you're all ok. things have been pretty bad here and i've been in some very dark places. the combination of intense heat, endo blood loss, Big Stress, and my general deterioration has kind of floored my physical and mental/neuropsych health and i'm struggling. and spiralling.

and we've got more Big Heat coming in the next week, potentially horrifically more in the long-range. i've been looking for an a/c that we could actually install here, but we're poor, and anything that won't make me sicker is either so expensive, requires official permission, or is out of stock. or all three!

i'm trying to poke my head up but the tentacles keep pulling me back down.

:charlene_cat_head: Charlene Update:

The vet called. Charlene is a very sick kitty, extremely dehydrated with an elevated white blood cell count—over 60,000. Her GI infection is serious.

Dr. Rodriguez wants to begin her on IV fluids and antibiotics and keep Charlene for the day, maybe overnight. She doesn't recommend *not having the treatment as Charlene "may not recover."

The vet bill will increase to $1200-$1300, an additional $300-$400 more than yesterday's estimate and y'all have contributed.

I'm going to say a prayer, cross my fingers and give the Dr. the go ahead to proceed. I don't want to lose Charlene.
