Keep Android Open - Warum ihr Handy demnächst vollständig Google gehören wird.

Wenn sie Apple Produkte nutzen betrifft sie diese Nachricht nicht. Ihre Daten gehören bereits Apple. Auch Google hätte gerne so eine durchgängige Datenmacht, und plant im September, das (halbwegs) offene Android‑Ökosystem in Richtung eines geschlossenen Systems à la iOS zu verändern.

Ein Schritt mit weitreichenden Folgen für digitale Freiheit und europäische Souveränität.

Was Google tut:
Im August 2025 hat Google nagekündigt, dass sich ab September 2026 JEDE Android-App-Entwickler.in zentral bei Google anmelden MUSS, damit ihre oder seine Software auf einem Android Handy überhaupt installiert werden kann. Das betrifft auch die kleine, z.B. lokal getauschte App, die nicht im Google Appstore zu finden ist und dort auch garnicht sein möchte.

Ein geschlossenes System begünstigt proprietäre Kanäle und erhöht die Eintrittsbarrieren.

Das bedeutet:

Alternative App‑Stores wie F‑Droid verlieren ihre Grundlage, weil zentrale Kontrollmechanismen und Restriktionen das Ökosystem so eng machen würden, dass unabhängige Distributionswege praktisch unmöglich werden.
Menschen und Länder mit weniger Ressourcen würden vom Zugang zu freier Software abgeschnitten und können so auch nichts beitragen. Das mindert die Vielfalt.
Vollständige Abhängigkeit von US-Tech-Giganten, da es keine Alternative zu Android in Europa gibt.

Wenn wenige große Konzerne Kontrolle über zentrale digitale Infrastrukturen ausüben, entsteht ein „Tech‑Feudalismus“ den wir als Europäer.innen ablehnen sollten. Monokulturen waren noch nie eine gute Idee.

What is this mess called #Microsoft ? Setting up a 3 Laptops for a small business that insists on using #Microsoft365 as it is now called is an absolute nightmare if you are not aware, that those cheap laptops only have the home edition of #windows11 installed. Turns out Azure AD now Entra ID is just not working and stopping with an absolutely useless Error Message.

If #microsoft and #google fight, there only can be winners.
