1. We're doing our quarterly #coconut harvest (we dry the flesh and sell it as copra). This time we got 4,375 nuts from our 130 trees (our record for 1 harvest is 5,090 nuts). Time to fertilize. #Farming #FarmLife

2. Wife's birthday event is in 2 weeks. I got a #haircut this morning so it will look less like a new haircut at the party but will still be neat. I hate drawing attention to myself.

3. Decision made: we're going to look for another dog as a companion for Max and Snowy. Now we just have to find some spare time to visit the animal shelter. #DogsOfMastodon

1. Replaced a faulty kitchen sink tap all on my lonesome and absolutely nothing went wrong. I'm shocked, shocked I tell you. #DIY

2. It's still very grey and soggy today after the overnight storm. Lots of thunder to scare Max (smallest dog) and more rain.

3. I'm addicted to dark twisty crime fiction and recently discovered the DCI Kett series by Alex Smith. Book 1 was a strong opener and book 2 just as good, but it's book 3 ("Three Little Pigs") that has grabbed me by the throat and is not letting go. #bookstodon

House roofs are generally metal here in the #Philippines, no matter how much you spend.

This means big rainstorms are seriously noisy. And they don't get any quieter just because it's the middle of the night or because muggins here is an appallingly light sleeper.

So it's 4am and here I am at my study desk with a coffee instead of tucked up in bed.

A morning #3Things #Today rather than my usual evening one.

1. Unknown to us, our farm workers added my wife's name to our barangay (village) #earthquake relief list and we got a care package! Rice, canned meat & fish, coffee, hot chocolate. It would not be ethical to keep it considering our level of income, so our workers (whose houses were all damaged) will share it out for their families.

2. Woke up with severe neck pain as I do sometimes. Paracetamol and more care with posture this morning.

3. Aluminum* window company visiting today to quote for some repairs and fixes. Screen doors don't last when you have dogs.

*The correct version is of course aluminium but here it's aluminum and recently to my horror I've found myself using the American version. I guess I'm becoming naturalised (with an s not a z lest I descend into complete savagery...)**

I’m beginning to think that dishwasher tablets are a scam.

I’ve taken three and I still don’t feel like doing the dishes.

Having and using a fidget spinner to keep your hands busy and curb restlessness - that's probably your #ADHD.

Obsessively loving that spinner, treating it as a sacred totem and desperately wanting to show everybody you meet all the different ways it can move - that's probably your #Autism.

9. They exhibit increasingly more distress and less ‘functioning’.
